Michael was born and raised in New York. He attended college on a full
tuition scholarship at The Cooper Union in New York. After earning his
degree in Mechanical Engineering, Michael took a job with The Boeing
Company and moved to Seattle Washington. This move from the city to
the Pacific Northwest, with its scenic beauty and abundant wildlife,
awakened a passion for nature that continues to grow today. This love
of the outdoors quickly turned to photography as a means to transform
and share the beauty of nature with others. Mostly self-taught Michael
studied the works of many of the masters in the field until he gained the
skills and knowledge to match his love and passion for photography
and the great outdoors. He progressed from the use of 35mm to the large
format cameras he uses today to produce the highest quality landscape
images. After years of learning the art of photography, Michael left his
career at Boeing in 1993 to start his Northwest Images Photography
business. Michael has combined a love of nature with his photographic
talents to create a portfolio of images that are enjoyed and collected by
people around the world.
